FASHION MINGLE Meet Up

A big supporter of the show, FASHION MINGLE, a global network for fashion industry professionals, connects fashion pros to the resources and services in over 100 categories. We reached out to Melissa Shea, CEO/Cofounder, to discuss her take on networking amid the pandemic.

Your company is focused on networking and connecting industry professionals to one another. In the current pandemic situation, social distancing is and will be the norm for some time to come. What challenges has that posed to your members to be able to meet and network with each other? There is some digital fatigue out there but has this made things easier or more difficult to collaborate?

In many ways, I think forcing people to slow down has actually been more productive and given businesses a chance to get off the hamster wheel and really focus on what makes the most sense for their business.  We launched our weekly Mingle Masterminds the week after New York City when into quarantine. In 2020 had over 60 guests that shared their expertise on a wide variety of subjects, allowing our members to ask questions and connect with the experts directly through our chat platform. Industry experts are more accessible than ever before, so this is a great time to take advantage of digital engagement. Digital fatigue is definitely real, so take a break when you need one, but also use your time wisely, so that you know the time spent is good for your business.

Joining us during Texworld New York City Happy Hours will help you to grow your knowledge and contacts, but also join our Mingle Masterminds every Friday at 1pm EST to learn more about marketing, business strategy, and how the fashion industry works.
