Texworld Day Three Still Has Lots in Store

Texworld USA wraps up on Wednesday with a diverse lineup of informative and educational events.

Starting off at 10:00 a.m. with the “MintModa Trend Tales & Street Tribes F/W 2020” presentation at Lecture Square, MintModa founder and creative director Sharon Graubard will dig into the drivers–emotional, aesthetic, cultural, historic–behind the trends. Each Trend Tale will come complete with actionable key items, must-have fabrics, prints and color palettes that will inspire relevant and desirable apparel and accessories for the season and beyond.

A Textile Talks is next up on the show floor at 11:30 a.m., “Upcycling: Exploring Options in Today’s Landscape and How Brands and Individuals Can Make a Difference.” Founder & Managing Director at Fashion4Freedom, will lead a discussion with panelists Patrick Duffy, co-founder of Global Fashion Exchange; Nicole Bassett, co-founder of Renewal Workshop; Rachel Kibbe, co-founder of Helpsy; Rachel K. Lincoln, director of sustainability at PrAna, and Daniel Mota Pinto, director of strategy and business development at Scoop Portugal. Each will explain their organizations’ involvement in upcycling and what options and opportunities are available to brands to be better stewards of reducing environmental impact.

At 1:00 p.m. at the Home Textile Symposium is “Got GOTS? – How the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) can validate your organic claims while meeting your CSR goals.” Moderator Lori Wyman, GOTS Representative in North America, will be joined by panelists Barry Cik, founder and technical director at Naturepedic, and Kerry Quirk-Moser, senior director of supply chain at Boll and Branch, to talk about U.S. regulations for organic textile labeling and how companies can use GOTS to substantiate organic claims and retain customers’ trust.
